Teaching calligraphy is like guiding a soul to dance with ink each stroke a breath, each letter a story. It is my joy to inspire beauty via this art

I discovered my passion for calligraphy under unique circumstances. Growing up as a refugee after fleeing Afghanistan to Iran as a child, I sought solace and expression through writing. In a small Iranian village, I crafted my first pen from bamboo and used blueberry ink to practice an art that has become an integral part of my identity. From those modest beginnings, calligraphy became both a personal refuge and a lifelong pursuit, eventually guiding me to become a professional calligrapher based in Utrecht. Along the way, I have shared my passion with children and adults alike, teaching the art of calligraphy not just as a form of artistic expression but as a tool for mindfulness, creativity, and a personal connection to the world of literature.I believe that in an age dominated by modernity and industrialization, calligraphy remains a powerful way to express emotions and thoughts. Through my teaching, I aim to revive this beautiful practice, helping others experience their ability to foster artistic growth and inner peace. Calligraphy is more than an art form; it is a practice that connects us to history, literature, and our innermost thoughts. It is a bridge between creativity and mindfulness, fostering focus and emotional expression in ways that transcend words. Teaching calligraphy to both children and adults has allowed me to witness its transformative effects firsthand. In my classes, calligraphy is more than a skill—it’s an experience. I show students how to breathe with their strokes, teaching patience and mindfulness through the flow of the pen. Calligraphy is like life. Each stroke has its place, and every letter is unique—just like each of us. My students, whether beginners or experienced writers, leave not just with better handwriting but with a newfound sense of creativity and peace.
