Step
into the hauntingly beautiful world of the Brontë sisters - Charlotte, Emily
and Anne - whose extraordinary novels forever changed English literature. In
this four-session course we will explore their lives, their world and the
enduring power of their words.
1. The Brontës and Their
World
Discover
the remarkable story of the Brontë family — their isolated upbringing on the
Yorkshire moors, their struggles for independence, and the creative fire that
produced three of the most powerful voices of the 19th century.
2. Jane Eyre – The Making of a Heroine
Dive into Charlotte Brontë’s timeless tale of love, morality,
and self-respect. We’ll analyze Jane’s journey toward self-determination and
discuss why her story still resonates today.
3: Wuthering
Heights – Passion on the Moors
Explore Emily Brontë’s dark masterpiece, a novel of wild
emotion, revenge, and untamed nature. Together, we’ll uncover what makes Wuthering
Heights one of the most intense and enigmatic novels ever written.
4: Villette
– Shadows and Strength
Conclude
the course with Charlotte’s Villette, a deeply personal and
psychologically rich work that reflects themes of loneliness, identity, and
resilience.
